The marine case is touted as being waterproof/resistant so Uniden kept the moisture resistant feature and advertised it as a plus for the SDS100. But the marine portables don’t use SDR.

SDS100E is DIFFERENT than SDS100 - and firmware branch is different also. I am well aware that the SDS100E version is different that the USA SDS100 version. I never said, nor inferred in any way that they are the same. In your post, you stated that you were having a hard time finding the American SDS100 firmware changelog page.The REM-820S is an SMA mount designed specifically for use with the SDS100. It will fully seat on the scanner, and has an o-ring to maintain the weather resistance of the scanner. The REM-800B is the same antenna, but with a BNC mount. I've got a call in to Uniden's repair shop in Texas to see if they're willing to extend the warranty to re-repair the radio, but I'm guessing that isn't likely to happen.

I soldered wires to the three pins on the USB plug first and then soldered the 3 different sets of wires to the leads. Solder the bare wires together. The white wires are not used. The mini powers and will charge simultaneously if enabled. There's no issues I found plugging in both while charging or not.
